Fuel tank replacement - Clark's Harbour Search and Rescue station
This is a non-designated project on federal lands or outside Canada. The listed authorities are responsible for the project assessment.
The Canadian Coast Guard have serviced a new Search and rescue vessel that will be docked at the Clark's Harbour Search and Rescue station. In order for this vessel to go on duty for CCG requirements and perform departmental mandates, a larger capacity fuel tank must be installed in order to properly service and meet the requirements by the vessel.
This project will install a new 31,000 litre tank on site in order to meet the service standards of the Canadian Coast Guard. The establishment of SAR vessel will allow CCG to increase the resources available to assist the community in marine emergency situations, such as saving lives and protecting the environment meanwhile increasing the range from the SAR station in which they can provide services.
DFO hopes to begin the replacement of the fuel tank starting June 2022 and complete work by the end of September 2022
