Irving Air Service Inc. Fuel System Upgrade

Irving Air Service Inc. (IAS; the proponent) is proposing to upgrade an existing above-ground Jet A1 fuel storage tank and dispensing system at its hangar located on lands owned by the Saint John Airport Authority at 4180 Loch Lomond Road, Saint John, New Brunswick. The project will consist of removing and decommissioning the current dispensing system and above-ground tank and installing a new dispensing cabinet and two new double walled above-ground tanks.  The new dispensing system and tanks will be installed less than 0.5 metres (m) north and west of the current tank and dispensing system, adjacent to an existing asphalt area. The existing tank's capacity is 20,000 litres (L), the two new tanks will each have a capacity of 44,500 L for a total capacity of 89,000 L.  The total footprint of the new system will be approximately 52.7 m² (569 ft2). Work will be carried out upon receipt of appropriate permits and approvals (anticipated in spring 2023).
