Harbour Improvements at the Saint Andrews Biological Station

Fisheries and Oceans Canada – Real Property, Safety and Security proposes to undertake harbour improvements at the Saint Andrews Biological Station, located in Saint Andrews, New Brunswick. The proposed project will involve:

  • the reconstruction of the existing wharf,
  • replacement of the floating wharves,
  • dredging, by means of blasting, and potentially requiring a temporary access road,
  • a new net shed, which will require marine infilling,
  • water pumphouse modifications,
  • the installation of two above ground fuel tanks,
  • electrical upgrades, and
  • site regrading and paving.

End of Public Comment Period

January 21, 2024– The public comment period on the project is closed. Fisheries and Oceans Canada and Transport Canada are considering comments received to date to inform its determination on whether carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
