Kinistin Saulteaux Nation Road Improvements

Kinistin Saulteaux Nation is proposing to improve approximately 15 km of main access, rural residential, and core area roadways located throughout the community. The proposed project involves surfacing repairs, ditch grading improvements, embankment upgrades, and four culvert crossings.

Site preparation activities include stripping topsoil within roadway ditches of the core residential area where ditching upgrades will be completed, as well as the south side of the Highway 773 embankment where sloping improvements will be completed. Construction activities will consist of excavating and filling existing roadway surfacing to design elevations, excavation of roadway to facilitate culvert installations, preparing existing subgrade materials, and application of aggregate and surfacing materials to the road surface. Following construction, disturbed areas will be restored with topsoil and seeding.

All anticipated waste generated during construction activities will be managed and disposed of at designated landfill facility. Procedures will be implemented throughout construction to prevent potential contamination from petroleum products used for on-site equipment.
