Fishing Lake First Nation Sewage Pumping Station Upgrades

Fishing Lake First Nation is proposing to upgrade the sewage pumping station servicing the community. The existing core sewage pumping station in Fishing Lake First Nation is undersized, causing damage to residential housing in the area via sewage backups. This project is in conjunction with the Fishing Lake Lagoon upgrade project to upgrade the waste water infrastructure in the community. The project will include the excavation and construction of a new wet dry sewage pumping station close in proximity to the existing sewage pumping station. The station is anticipated to have a life span of over 20+ years. Th new sewage pumping station will be built on a concrete foundation to store pumps, mechanical and electrical hardware and is designed to store and pump sewage to the facultative lagoon located on SW 1/4 Sec 15 TP 33 R12 W3. The project also includes the replacement of the existing 100mm dia. sewage forcemain with a 200mm dia. sewage forcemain.  Approximately 2000m of sewage force main will be installed in the same right of way as the existing main to the lagoon via excavation and directional drilling.

Decommissioning of the existing sewage pumping station will be completed after commissioning the new system. Installation of ~2000 meters if HDPE sewage forcemain, via excavation and directional drilling. General construction waste, to be disposed off-site on an approved landfill.
