Chinook Power Station Project

Saskatchewan Power Corporation (SaskPower) is proposing to construct and operate a 350-megawatt combined cycle natural gas power station located approximately 11 kilometres northwest of Swift Current, Saskatchewan. As proposed, the Chinook Power Station Project would have an operating lifespan of at least 30 years and include a power generation facility, a switchyard, and a new underground water pipeline.

December 2, 2016 - The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency issued its environmental assessment determination and decided that an environmental assessment of the designated project is not required.
