Great Plains Generating Station Project

ATCO Power Canada Ltd. is proposing to construct and operate a 350 megawatt natural gas fired combined cycle gas turbine electricity generation station approximately 11 km northwest of Swift Current, Saskatchewan. In addition to the power plant, the proposed project also includes water source and wastewater disposal pipelines.

April 7, 2016 - The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency will not be commencing an environmental assessment for this Project. The Agency has been advised by the proponent that it no longer intends to carry out the Project described in the Project Description submitted on February 2, 2016, under the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act, 2012.
