Grasslands National Park Bison Fence

Proposed work is to replace approximately 9 miles of 3-wire fence with 5-wire Bison standard fence in the Dixon lands of the West Block, and to remove approximately 2.5 miles of 5-wire fence in a nearby area. The area where fence is to be replaced is on lands protected by the Emergency Order for the Protection of the Greater sage-grouse (EPO). The 5-wire fence will be constructed to all specifications required by the EPO, except that fence posts will not be designed to deter perching and therefore a SARA permit will be required. Proposed work will be assessed with a Basic Impact Assessment.
