Piapot Lagoon, Forcemain and Sewage Pumping Station
The current lagoon at Piapot First Nation has come to the end of its life span. The proposed project is for the: construction of a two celled HDPE lined facultative lagoon (primary cell 2.2ha, Storage: 91,000 Cu.m), construction of a new sewage pumping station (70Sq.M with a storage capacity of 50,000L), upgrades to the mechanical and electrical of an existing lift station. Installation of a new HDPE sewage force main to the new lagoon location. infrastructure life span anticipated for 30+ years, with proper operation and maintenance. Purpose of the project is to supply Piapot First Nation with adequate sewage handeling and treatment for the forseeable future. Project to take place on the following LLDs: Lagoon: NE 22 21 18 W2, Sewage Force Main: SW 22 21 18 W2, NE 15 21 18 W2, NW 14 21 18 W2, NE 14 21 18 W2, NE 14 21 18 W2, SW 14 21 18 W2, SW 15 21 18 W2, New Sewage Puming Station: SW 15 21 18 W2, and Pumping Station to be Upgrades: SW 16 21 18 W2.
Lagoon Site:
Vegetation will be stripped. Topsoil will be removed and stock piled. Berm material will be excavated, relocated and packed in place. HDPE liner will be installed on lagoon floor and fused. Topsoil will be replaced and seeded.
Sewage Force Main:
Topsoil will be stripped. An approximate 3 meter trench will be excavated, DR 9 Sewage force main will be installed, and back filled. Topsoil will be replaced and seeded. Pipe sections under the Qu'Appelle River will be directionally drilled.
New Sewage Pumping Station:
New Sewage Pumping Station site will be excavated. Mud slab will be poured followed by a bottom slab. Walls will be formed reinforced and poured. Followed by a top slab. Small building will enclose the structure. Inside the building will be a propane/natural Gas generator, electrical and mechanical equipment.
