Saskatchewan Agriculture Drainage Network - Wascana Block A Drainage Network Project

The Wascana Conservation and Development Area Authority, on behalf of a group of landowners holding property in the area, is proposing to expand an existing drainage network within the Wascana Creek Watershed for the diversion of surface water from agricultural lands. Located approximately 25 kilometres southeast of Regina, near the hamlet of Kronau, Saskatchewan, the project would operate indefinitely and consists of the addition of 1.5 kilometres of drainage channels, installation of two new flow control structures, and installation of monitoring and maintenance ditches. The project does not propose to increase the diversion capacity of the existing network.

Latest update

The Minister of Environment and Climate Change has determined that the Wascana Block A Drainage Network Project proposed by the Wascana Conservation and Development Area Authority does not warrant designation under the Impact Assessment Act. The reasons for the Minister’s determination are provided in the Minister’s response.
