Ahtahkakoop Cree Nation New School

Ahtahkakoop Cree Nation is proposing the construction of a new community school that will also include a recreation centre and childcare. The school will have an area of 5,540 square metres plus a 450 square metre childcare area and arena of approximately 3,400 square metres. Parking and sport fields will also be constructed on the site at an area of approximately 16 acres for the total development. The majority of the land is currently used for agricultural purposes. The project will also include installation of related infrastructure, including water mains, gravity sewer mains, gas mains, and three-phase power service. The construction phase will generally follow a sequence beginning with topsoil removal, followed by earthworks, and culminating in the facility's construction.
