Witchekan Lake Subdivision

The Proposed Project

The proposed project is to design and construct a new subdivision on the available land north east of the existing core area.  The scope of work would include sewer mains, water mains, hydrants, service connections, natural gas, primary power, street lights, roadway construction, culverts and approaches, erosion control and lot preparation. The proposed subdivision is on the SW and SE ¼ of 29-52-11-W3.

New water distribution, gravity sewage collection and sewage force main piping will service Phase 1 of the subdivision.  A new sewage pumping station will be required near the north central part of the SE quarter.  Power, natural gas and telephone services will also be provided to the subdivision lots.  Roadways, ditches, rough grading of lots, street lights and signage are also part of the construction.

Site preparation:
Subdivision phase 1 area will require topsoil stripping and stockpiling.

Construction:
1. Deep underground utilities (water and sewer mains) will be installed.
2A. Sewage pumping station construction.
2B. Water and sewer services installed to each lot.
3. Rough grading of road right of way, ditches and lot grading.
4. Shallow utilities (power, gas & telephone) will be installed.
5. Roadway construction, topsoil replacement and landscaping.
6. Street light and signage installation.

Operation:
SPS operation will be ongoing.

December 12, 2022 - Indigenous Services Canada issued its notice of determination Notice of Determination for Witchekan Lake Subdivision (iaac-aeic.gc.ca) and determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effect.
