Big Island Cree Nation Road Upgrades and Repairs - Site 4

Big Island Cree Nation is planning road upgrades and repairs on portion of road within NW 36-62-25 W3M due to poor drainage and lack of engineered specifications of the existing roadway. The road construction will help ensure the pass ability of school and emergency vehicles. The project includes upgrading and clay capping the existing road for approximately 1 km. The existing road traverses wetland and treed areas that will be disturbed for execute construction activities.

 


Latest update

June 25, 2026 - Indigenous Services Canada intends to make a determination regarding whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting public comments until July 24, 2026 respecting that determination.
