Kehewin Cree Nation Waste Diversion Station

Kehewin Cree Nation (KCN) is proposing to construct a waste diversion station (the project) six km southwest of Kehewin, Alberta, and will be located on the existing access road into the KCN landfill. The project will be approximately 0.6 ha in size.

The project is intended to provide a suitable location to deposit divertible material and reduce the amount of landfill bound waste, thus providing a safe and environmentally friendly means of managing solid waste for the KCN.

Latest update

February 3, 2021 – Indigenous Services Canada issued its notice of determination https://iaac-aeic.gc.ca/050/evaluations/document/138017 and determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
