Kehewin Cree Nation Telus Tower AB103726

TELUS plans to build a telecommunications tower to service the community of Kehewin Cree Nation. The project will require an access road to be constructed. Once complete the total site area will be 1420 m2 and contain a guyed tower structure and 12 x 12 ft shelter. Construction activities include drilling for concrete piers, concrete piers/blocks poured for the shelter and tower foundations, and a concrete pad in the tower center. Everything is assembled on site except for the shelter which comes prefabricated. Fill materials will include gravel and wash rock.


Latest update

June 25, 2024 – Indigenous Services Canada intends to make a determination regarding whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting public comments Impact Assessment Agency of Canada (iaac-aeic.gc.ca) until July 25, 2024 respecting the determination.
