Electrical Power Upgrade for Building 650 (B650) at Garrison Wainwright

The purpose of the project is to increase the electrical capacity and to provide emergency back-up power for Building 650.

Project activities include:

  • Replace the existing pad-mounted transformer; and
  • Upgrade the electrical services installation (inside and outside building).

Upgrading includes:
o Demolishing and capping off existing duct bank and installing a new duct bank
o Installing UPS (300kVA at 20'x8')
o Installing Generator (750kW at 30'x10')

The Generator will include a fuel tank of size to suffice for 8-hours of continuous operation at full load

August 11, 2020— The Department of National Defence issued its Notice of Determination and determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
