OS-7267 Authorization to Construct and Operate a Surface Lease for an access road and for a multiwell oil pad

A surface lease consisting of a 484.53 m long access road and 3.12 ha. area for drilling and operating a multiwell oil padsite will be constructed and maintained for the operating life of the eight proposed well(s), then decommissioned and reclaimed before the lease agreement is surrendered.

The project uses a single padsite to drill multiple wells with the site configured to avoid direct impacts to wetland areas and a nearby dry ephemeral waterbody, while being in proximity to an existing pipeline right-of-way, an abandoned wellsite and associated access in the immediate area. No fish bearing waterbodies or large open waterbodies will be impacted or an in proximity to the proposed padsite and access road.

February 13, 2026 – The public comment period on the project is closed. Indian Oil and Gas Canada is considering comments received to help inform its determination on whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
