Power Grid Modernization - 4 Wing Cold Lake

The Department of National Defence (DND) has proposed a project. In support of the Future Fighter Capability Project, the 4 Wing power grid requires modernization. The scope of the Power Grid Modernization project is to construct a new 25 KV underground High-Voltage power line. The project, conducted through 4 phases of work across 4 Wing, will include both overhead and underground power lines, lighting, and associated infrastructure.


Latest update

June 18, 2024 – The public comment period on the project is closed. The Department of National Defence is considering comments received to help inform its determination on whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
