Mistawasis Nehiyawak Lagoon Upgrades

Mistawasis Nehiyawak is proposing an infrastructure upgrade project, relating to sanitary sewer treatment, collection and pumping. The project includes the construction of a new facultative lagoon, 1.2 km north east of the existing lagoon within 35-48-6 W3M.  Anew sewage force main will be required to be constructed from the existing sewage pumping station to the new lagoon location. The Project also includes a new gravity sewer in a common trench with the new forcemain to the lagoon to service existing houses north of the core community. The upgrades are designed to accommodate a 20 year population projection.

The Construction activities will include top soil stripping, excavation, compaction, truck hauling, pipe fusing, bedding and backfilling. General construction waste including, excess pipe, access liner material etc. will be disposed of at an off site landfill.
