Construction of Accommodation Buildings 1 to 6 - Garrison St-Jean

The Proposed Project

The Department of National Defence (DND) has proposed a project. Design and construct, on site HD4, six multifunctional buildings using a shell and core approach with modular layouts. These buildings must provide:

  • Accommodation for recruits in the short and medium term
  • Conversion into storage spaces in the long term

Key Features:

  • Six buildings of approximately 2,000 m2 each for ELRFC
  • Dormitories for recruits
  • Work areas for instructors
  • Rest areas
  • Inclusive washrooms and showers (universal accessibility)
  • Outdoor parking

January 25, 2026 – The public comment period on the project is closed. The authorities are considering comments received to help inform their determination on whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
