Artillery Storage Shed, Halifax Citadel National Historic Site

The purpose of this project is to establish a purpose-built, on-site winter storage facility to eliminate the logistical challenges associated with the current off-site storage arrangement. The installation of a prefabricated storage structures (sea containers) within the Halifax Citadel ditch would be completed to provide a secure, winter storage for field guns, swivel guns, and related equipment. The facility would be equipped with electrical service, insulation, and heating to protect artifacts and equipment from winter conditions. The structures will be supported on a gravel pad foundation, minimizing site disturbance.
