Birdtail Sioux First Nation Aerated Lagoon Project

The Birdtail Sioux First Nation requires a wastewater treatment lagoon to service the growing community to design year 20. The project will include surface vegetation removal, excavation of two aerated cells with rip rap and two SAGR cells, perimeter drainage ditching, 140m of intercell piping and 650m of discharge piping, 4km of access road construction, blower building with backup genset, well, 750m of fencing, re-seeding, a 4-bay septic truck garage three  (3) new septic hauling trucks and replacing existing septic tanks with 82 new holding tanks.


Latest update

June 16, 2022 – Indigenous Services Canada issued its notice of determination and determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
