Research, Monitoring and Management of Invasive Smallmouth Bass in Clear Lake, Riding Mountain National Park

In order to monitor and manage the invasion of smallmouth bass in Clear Lake, Parks Canada will work with Keeseekoowenin Ojibway First Nation to assess spearfishing and use electrofishing as techniques to control the invasive species. Research will also be conducted to compare the diets of walleye and smallmouth bass to characterize competition and predation between the two species.
