Thunderchild First Nation New Subdivision

Thunderchild First Nation is proposing to construct a new subdivision on available land north of the community's existing wellness centre. A total of 80 lots will be built as required to meet the 8-year design threshold.

The new subdivision will require installation of new infrastructure. New water distribution, gravity sewage collection and sewage force main piping will be built to service the subdivision, and a new water booster pumphouse and a new sewage management station will be built near the southeast part of the subdivision. Power, natural gas and telephone services will also be provided to the subdivision lots. Roadways, ditches, rough grading of lots, street lights and signage are also part of the construction. The site is not currently accessible by the existing road network and will require roadway and service extensions from the existing infrastructure.

Site preparation activities will include vegetation removal and topsoil stripping and stockpiling. Construction activities will include installation of deep underground and shallow utilities, construction of a new treated water booster pumphouse and sewage pumping station, installation of water and sewer services to each lot, rough grading of road right of way, ditches and lot grading, roadway construction, topsoil replacement and landscaping, and installation of street lights and signage.
