Whistlerville Staff Accommodation Rebuild

This project will be assessed with a basic impact assessment. Parks Canada is proposing to rebuild the Whistlerville staff housing units that were lost in the 2024 Jasper Wildfire. The new staff housing units will be located at the south end of the former Marmot Meadows group camp area in Jasper National Park. The housing will be designed for three-season use and will be connected to existing utilities that serve Whistler's Campground and other nearby visitor facilities. The project will restore essential staff housing capacity to support seasonal visitor operations in the park.

Latest update

July 14 2026 – Parks Canada intends to make a determination regarding whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Parks Canada is inviting public comments until August 13 2026 respecting that determination.
