Petro Canada Wildfire Rebuild

The Petro Canada gas station located at 701 Connaught Drive in Jasper, Alberta, was destroyed by the 2024 wildfire. Debris demolition is complete, and Suncor Energy has submitted an application to redevelop the site into a gas station with a six channel pump island, convenience store and quick-service restaurant. The redevelopment will also include the installation of four underground storage tanks in a new tank nest location and a series of groundwater monitoring wells.

July 6 2026 – Parks Canada issued its Notice of Determination and determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
