Dokis First Nation - Lagoon Expansion

The project consists of the expansion and rehabilitation of the lagoon in Dokis First Nation, Ontario. The modifications will increase the lagoon's capacity, implement the pre-treatment system, and install separation membranes to channel the flow. Pre-treatment is proposed to reduce the sediment build up in the lagoon due to the amount of septage disposed of in the lagoon. The project will enable the lagoon to meet Federal and Provincial discharge requirements, reduce the loss of capacity and/or frequent removal of sludge from the lagoon, and increase lagoon capacity to meet the required one-year retention time.

2024-08-21 – The authorities have determined that the proposed project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. Therefore, the authorities may carry out the project, exercise any power, perform any duty or function, or provide financial assistance to enable the project to be carried out in whole or in part.
