Replacement of diesel fuel system at Pigeon Hill Harbour, NB

The Harbour Authority of Pigeon Hill is planning to replace the existing above-ground diesel fuel storage tank and fuel dispensing system at the Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) – Small Craft Harbour (SCH) located at 3921 Route 305 in Pigeon, New Brunswick.  This project will consist of removing and decommissioning the current dispensing system and above-ground diesel fuel tank and installing a new dispensing system and above-ground diesel tank in the same location as the previous tank.  The existing tank's capacity is 36,366 liters while the new tank's capacity will be 40,000 litres.  Work will be carried out upon receipt of appropriate permits and approvals (anticipated late Summer/early Fall, 2021).

Notice of Determination

September 3, 2021 – Fisheries and Oceans Canada - Small Craft Harbours has issued its Notice of Determination after evaluation of the Fuel System Replacement project and has determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects with mitigation measures as outlined in their evaluation and can therefore proceed.
