Refurbishment of the Joseph-Gavey house - LOT 2 PRO-1686

The project involves refurbishing the Joseph-Gavey house (lot 2 in the Grande-Grave sector) in keeping with the building's original character. The work involves replacing the roof and restoring the envelope components (siding, doors, windows and dormer), including insulation. All finishing work and interior fittings must allow the house to be occupied. This project is part of a larger project to provide accommodation for visitors to heritage homes in the area. The project's mission therefore includes the conservation and preservation of built heritage, with a strong visitor experience component. This heritage house has been formally recognized by the FHBRO since 2001. The scope of work includes, but is not limited to: - The project involves refurbishing the Joseph-Gavey house in keeping with the building's original character. The work includes replacing the roof and restoring the envelope components (siding, doors, windows and dormer).- All finishing and interior work will allow the house to be occupied. All work must be carried out in accordance with the National Building Code of Canada - 2015 (NBC 2015). - Construction of a temporary access road. - Construction of a storage area and temporary worksite facilities.

October 26, 2023 – The public comment period on the project is closed. Parks Canada is considering comments received to help inform its determination on whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
