Establishment of a new telecommunication site, Anticosti

The Canadian Coast Guard (CCG) wishes to establish a new telecommunications site on Anticosti Island for its operations. The new facilities will replace those currently in service at the Pointe Heath site, which have reached the end of their useful life. The site chosen for GCC's new communications site is located in the east of Anticosti Island. The new facilities will include a helipad, fuel station, guyed tower and shelters. The fuel dispensing station will be built in accordance with the regulations in force. All waste or residual materials generated as part of the project will be collected and disposed of off the Island at authorized sites. Transportation, storage and handling of hazardous materials and wastes will be carried out in accordance with federal and provincial government laws, regulations, codes and guidelines.
