ATCO Pipeline 1165 - Ext (6c) Kainai Community Subdivision

ATCO Gas and Pipelines Ltd. is planning to install 830 meters of 60 millimeter diameter polyethylene gas main and six short 42 millimeter gas services at Blood Tribe on previously cleared lands. The new distribution gas main will accommodate a proposed commercial subdivision on the eastern edge of Standoff. The proposed gas line will be installed at a depth of 0.8 to 1.2 meters and will be tied into the existing gas main. The proposed methods of installation will include trenching, as well as horizontal directional drilling and use of hydrovac when required.

Construction will include removal of topsoil, installation of gas main, back filling, re-grading, reclamation, and flaring of the gas to ensure the gas line has 100 percent gas in it.

No vegetation clearing is proposed and the project is not located near any waterbodies or wetlands. Wildlife species at risk are not anticipated to be present in the project construction area. A wildlife and nest sweep will be completed prior to construction.
