Red Crow Community College New Campus

The Red Crow Community College (RCC) New Campus Project (the Project) will construct a new campus building to replace the main campus building that was destroyed in a fire in 2015. The new campus building will be 9,888 square metres, located on Kainai First Nation Reserve in Cardston County, Alberta.

The Project scope includes:

  • classrooms, workshops, and labs;
  • a library;
  • museum and archival space;
  • a cultural teaching and gathering space;
  • a cafeteria and daycare;
  • student academic and counselling spaces;
  • spaces for Elders; and
  • administrative and program space for employees.

The new building will allow the RCC to provide education and training, and create a new talent pipeline for key industries in southern Alberta, such as agriculture and agri-business, to support the promotion of long-term economic development of the region. The new building will offer a high quality, culturally infused, language-based learning environment for Indigenous (and non-Indigenous) students. The RCC's New Campus Project supports and advances the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's Call to Action recommendations regarding post-secondary education and indigenous communities.
