On-Farm Composting System, Pilot Project

This pilot project proposes the establishment of an on farm composting system to help address orchard waste management challenges. Project will reduce landfill hauling requirements, and improve sustainability and nutrient cycling on-farm. Project will involve the installation of approximately 200 meters of electric fence and gate, as well as approximately 200 meters of underground pipeline to distribute water to the area from an existing source.


Latest update

Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada intends to make a determination regarding whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, the authority is inviting public comments until August 22, 2026 respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online.
