Nappan Island Bridge Replacement, Municipality of Trent Hills

The Municipality of Trent Hills proposes to replace the Nappan Island Bridge located on Nappan Island Road, approximately 4.6km East of Highway 30. The structure spans the narrows between Burnt Point Bay and Lake Seymour.

A new bridge will be built approximately 2m west of the existing bridge.  The new bridge will be a single lane steel Bailey bridge measuring approximately 60 m long and 6.55 m wide with a 1.67 m wide pedestrian lane on the east side of the bridge. As the new bridge will be in a different location then the existing location, a new asphalt roadway will be constructed and tied into the existing road. The existing bridge, foundation, and fill will be removed after construction of the new bridge. The project will retain the existing rock filled abutments and causeway approaches.
