Grain terminal expansion

HOPA is proposing to add capacity to an existing grain export terminal at the Port of Oshawa.  The expansion will add a new 10,241 metric tonne grain bin, dual truck offloading structure, a conveyor system and associated grain distribution system with structural supports.  The project will support local farmers more readily access export markets. 

Funding for the project is provided in part by Transport Canada under the National Trade Corridors Fund.


Latest update

April 26, 2024 – The Hamilton-Oshawa Port Authority and Transport Canada have issued their Notice of Determination and determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
