Addition of a line of floating pontoons and riprap to breakwater 301 at Grosse-Île harbour, Magdalen Islands
This is a non-designated project on federal lands or outside Canada. The listed authorities are responsible for the project assessment.
The project includes work on the current breakwater to allow the anchoring of floating pontoons at the inner end of breakwater 301. The work also includes raising the current riprap of the breakwater to allow better protection of users in this new sector of the harbor with pontoons.

Transport Canada (TC) and Fisheries and Oceans Canada - Small Craft Harbors (DFO-SCH) publish the Notice of Determination and have determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
This determination was based on the following factors:
- impacts on the rights of Indigenous peoples of Canada;
- Indigenous knowledge;
- community knowledge;
- comments received from the public; And · technically and economically feasible mitigation measures.
Mitigation measures will be implemented for several elements of the environment, in particular the following elements: air, water and fish. The various mitigation measures for the project are attached..
