Storm Damage Repairs, Codroy, NL

DFO, Small Craft Harbour intends to complete storm damage repairs to the wharf infrastructure at the SCH site in Codroy, NL. The scope of work for this project will involve repairs and reconstruction at 3 sites damaged during a recent storm.

The proposed activities at Site 1 includes the demolition and removal of the existing pile structure marginal wharf and the reconstruction of a new treated timber cribwork marginal wharf c/w rock mattress, as well as site dredging. 

Site #2 involves the demolition and removal of the existing breakwater wharf down to elevation +0.40m. The remaining structure to be encased in rock.   

Site #3 involves the reshaping of material on the existing breakwater and the installation of new 6-8 tonne armour stone to establish a crest height of +7.00m and a crest width of 10.00m to provide protection for wharf infrastructure.

January 16, 2024 – The authorities issued its Notice of Determination and determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
