Storm Damage Repairs, Burnt Islands, NL

DFO, Small Craft Harbour intends to carry out repairs to the existing infrastructure which was damaged during a recent storm. The scope of work for this project involves repairs to infrastructure at two sites in Burnt Islands. Activities at site 1 will include removal of the existing concrete deck wharf to facilitate repair and construction work. A new timber crib wharf with concrete decking will be constructed in the same footprint but with a larger configuration extending the footprint slightly.

At site 2 the existing creosote timber cribs from an old cribwork wharf will be demolished to +0.50m L.N.T. The old footprint will then be encased in armourstone to construct a breakwater type structure.
