Fishway Refurbishment, Middle Brook, NL

DFO, Real Property Safety Security (RPSS) intends to refurbish the existing fishway in Middle Brook, NL. The proposed project will see the installation of new water control structures, refurbishment of existing uplands staircase, replacement of existing staircase railing, removal of fishway rock debris, replacement of the damaged fishway weir wall and replacement of the existing concrete stop log sill. A temporary access route to the fishway will be constructed to access the upstream riverbank. Upon completion of this proposed project, the temporary access road to fishway will be removed and reinstated to existing conditions.

March 14, 2024 – The authorities issued their Notice of Determination and determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
