Argentia Inspection Station - Roof Replacement

This project consists of the replacement of the roof of the Argentia Quarantine Inspection Station situated on 0.5 hectares of leased land within the Marine Atlantic Ferry Terminal complex, near the town of Placentia, Newfoundland. The asset consists of one CFIA-owned building with a gross floor area of approximately 678 square metres. The building utilizes a steel frame structural system. The project was screened under the CEAA 2012 and mitigation measures were developed. Mitigation measures are available upon request.

Notice of Determination  August 10, 2020. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has determined that the CFIA Argentia Inspection Station Roof Replacement in Argentia, NL is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.  Potential environmental effects will be managed through technically and economically feasible mitigation measures and implemented for the following: migratory birds and species at risk. Therefore, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency may carry out the project, exercise any power, perform any duty or function, or provide financial assistance to enable the project to be carried out in whole or in part.
