New Floating Dock Installation at Bonavista SCH, NL

The proposed project at Bonavista SCH includes the installation of a new floating dock onto an existing floating dock system. The existing floating dock system is oriented to the southeast, and is comprised of 3 floating dock segments (Structure No. 802, 804, and 813). The new floating dock will be installed at the apex of the terminal floating dock segment (Structure No. 813) and be oriented in-line with the existing floating dock system. Once floated into place, the new floating dock will be attached to the existing floating dock system and subsequently anchored in place. The new floating dock will add an approximate 45 square meters to the existing footprint, and extend the existing floating dock system by approximately 16.5 meters.

Notice of Intent to Make a Determination – Start of Public Comment Period

September 18, 2026 – The federal authorities intend to make a determination regarding whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, the federal authorities are inviting public comments until October 18, 2026 respecting that determination.
