Wharf Replacement, Hecla, Manitoba

Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Small Craft Harbours (SCH) is responsible for maintaining safe and accessible harbours at Hecla, MB. The floating docks and adjacent wharf have reached the end of its functional life and require replacement.

Fisheries and Oceans Canada – Small Craft Harbours are proposing to replace a series of floating wharves at Hecla harbour. The wharf replacement will require the removal and disposal of the existing floats and supporting anchoring systems, as well as a timber crib structure which are part of the north-central stringer. A new crib and ballast rock will be constructed near shore. Anchor piles will be installed to support the location of the new floating wharves. A total of seventeen (17), floating wharves will be placed in the water and floated into a specific arrangement.
