Reconstruction of a section of the commercial wharf of Grande-Entrée Harbour in Magdalen Islands

The fishing harbour of Grande-Entrée, owned by Fisheries and Oceans Canada - Small Craft Harbours Branch (SCH), is located in the Magdalen Islands.

A section of the commercial wharf must be rebuilt as the structure has exceeded its useful life and is in an advanced state of deterioration.

The project involves the demolition of a section of the commercial wharf and its reconstruction at the same location. The project includes the following work:

• Demolition of a section of the commercial wharf composed of creosote-treated wood cribs.

• Disposal of demolition materials (including creosote-treated wood);

• Reconstruction of the commercial wharf section using wood cribs.

September 10th, 2024 - Fisheries and Oceans Canada - Small Craft Harbours (DFO-SCH) intend to determine whether this project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To assist it in this process, DFO-SCH invites the public to submit any comments on this matter within 30 days of the publication of this notice.
