Loon River First Nation: Industrial Park Grocery Store

Loon River First First Nation proposes to construct and operate a new grocery store at the Loon River Industrial Park near Red Earth Creek to supply local demand for local grocery service for nearby indigenous communities. The grocery store will be 850 square meters not including access roads, parking surfaces, and stormwater infrastrucute. The proposed location has been cleared of forest, but has no other improvements. The industrial park is within the Red Earth woodland caribou range; habitat was assessed and determined to be insufficient for woodland caribou and therefore, the species is unlikely to be disturbed.
