Grassy Narrows First Nation Family Services Building Construction

Grassy Narrows First Nation is proposing to build a new Office in the community for Kitapinoojiminaanik Family Services (KFS). The building will be a single story timber-framed structure approximately 1,487 squared meters with additional features including an exterior covered deck, fenced playground area, adjacent greenspace and a parking lot.
The design intends to be fully accessible, with office space for Administration, Prevention, and Protection services, and rooms for training, meetings, families, and cultural spaces. Lot service connections will be extended from existing water and wastewater lines as well as hydroelectricity and telecommunications. Other physical activities include clearing, grubbing, excavation of topsoil and backfilling for foundational requirements and one section of community road will be re-aligned to provide safer sightlines and right of way standards.
The project is well aligned with Grassy Narrows First Nation planning initiatives and goals of the community leadership, to provide support for children, youth, and families.
