Rehabilitation of the Access Road to Three First Nation Communities

This project consists of the rehabilitation of the access road between Highway 71 and the First Nation communities of Naotkamegwanning, Animakee Wa Zhing #37 and Northwest Angle #33. The project proponent is the Naotkamegwanning First Nation. The project scope includes the rehabilitation of approximately 3.6 kilometres (km) of road, the work includes replacement of the road surface, improvements to drainage ditches and culverts, removal of shoulder vegetation, addition of signage and replacement of cable guiderails and posts. The project aims to improve the reliability of the road asset and contribute to the overall road network in Ontario.


Latest update

January 19, 2022 - Infrastructure Canada and Indigenous Services Canada issued its Notice of Determination and determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
