Rehabilitation of the lighthouse of l'île aux Oeufs

Work on the Île aux Oeufs lighthouse this year includes scraping the exterior siding of the lighthouse, repairing damaged concrete surfaces and repainting the lighthouse. The goal is not to completely strip the exterior of the headlight, but rather to remove the peeling paint and clean the surface thoroughly so that the new layers of paint adhere well to the exterior siding. The ground around the lighthouse will have to be covered with a canvas that will catch residues and paint shavings as the scraping is done to avoid spreading contaminants.  After scraping, concrete or any other area of the structure should be repaired before painting. Finally, the exterior of the lighthouse will be repainted using rollers or brushes depending on feasibility. The paint layer will act as a sealant to prevent the remaining old lead paint, if any, from peeling and contaminating the surrounding soil.
