Decommissioning of the Power Corridor at Point Pelee National Park

As part of the Main Road Recapitalization project in 2019, the remaining aging aboveground power and phone utilities were replaced with newer ones underground throughout various locations in the park. Over the next couple years, Parks Canada staff, contractors, Hydro One and Bell will decommission six kilometers of aboveground power line corridor infrastructure, which will serve to better protect the park's natural and cultural resources over the long-term.
