CBSA Walpole Island - New Building

In-water construction of a new, one-story building to be used by the Canada Border Services Agency as Point of Entry to Canada for the ferry operated by the Walpole Island First Nation. The ferry is operated between Algonac, Michigan and Walpole Island, Ontario and is operated year-round, weather permitting. The land is currently not developed. The proposed area will be de-watered and infilled with clean fill to build up a new area for construction. Possible dredging may be involved. The proposed building will have a footprint of approximately 2,000 ft2. Approvals from Transport Canada and the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources may be required.
