Misipawistik Cree Nation Cultural Centre

Misipawistik Cree Nation will construct a three-storey cultural centre that includes spaces for gatherings and community meetings, feasts, traditional teachings and language classes, crafts, and games. The new cultural centre will be located in the northern portion of the community, along Highway 6. The building will be approximately 1,244 m2.

May 3, 2023 – The public comment period on the project is closed. Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada (CIRNAC) is considering comments received to help inform its determination on whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
